F. Elery Williams, 67, of Fife Lake, a member of the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners for the past 14 years, died Sun, January 22, 1984 at his residence.

Mr. Williams had been a farmer in the Fife Lake area for many years prior to his retirement. In addition to the Board of Commissioners, he was a former member of the A.S.C.S. Board and the Tri County Health Board.

He was born in Pellston, MI on May 22, 1916 to Floyd and Elsie Stampfler Williams. On September 22, 1937, in Fife Lake, he was united in marriage with Lorraine Birgy who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Rodney of Fife Lake; three daughters, Mrs. L. Mae Kimball and Mrs. Barbara Bridson both of Fife Lake, and Mrs. Virginia Thomas of Kalkaska; two brothers, Orris of Fife Lake and Athel of Gaylord; one sister, Nettie Sanford of Lansing; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Two sons, Arden Paul and Elery LeRoy, and one brother, Arden preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 2pm Wed, January 25, 1984, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Lloyd Jewett officiated. Burial will be in Springfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
