Mrs. Lorraine S. Williams, 64, a lifelong resident of Fife Lake, died Thu, Jul 11, 1985, at the home of her daughter Mae Kimball in Fife Lake.

Mrs. Williams and her late husband, Elery, had operated a farm in the Fife Lake area, and she was a member of the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners in 1984. She was an avid bingo fan.

She was born in  Fife Lake on February 19, 1921, to Eugene and Lulu Warren Birgy. On September 22, 1937, in Fife Lake, she was united in marriage with Elery Williams. He died on January 22, 1984.

Surviving are one son, Rodney of Fife Lake; three daughters, Mae Kimball and Barbara Bridson both of Fife Lake, and Virginia Thomas of Kalkaska; two brothers, Paul Birgy of Manton and Tony Birgy of Fenton; one sister, Elizabeth Haskin of Manton; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Arden Paul and Elery LeRoy; one sister, Margaret Mowers; and one brother, Wilbur Birgy.

Funeral services were held Mon, Jul 15, 1985 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Lloyd Jewett, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Traverse, officiated. Burial was in Springfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
