Mrs. Gertrude Scott, 66, of Fife Lake R. 1 died Monday afternoon at Cadillac after a lingering illness. 

Mrs. Scott was born in Springfield township, Kalkaska county, on May 4, 1895, the daughter of Benjamin and Catherine Blake, and on May 16, 1914 was married to Jesse Scott, who survives. She was a member of the Fife Lake Methodist church, and had been a resident of the community since moving there from Dearborn in 1953. 

Surviving besides the husband are one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Juanita) Pennington of Taylor; five sisters, Mrs. William Condon of Flint, Mrs. Fred Skinner of Dearborn, and Mrs. Earl Gilmore, Mrs. Oscar Miner, and Mrs. Vera Butler, all of Fife lake; and one brother Floyd Blake of Fife Lake.

Funeral services will be held at Fife Lake Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Max Gladding officiating, with burial in Springfield township Cemetery. 

The body is to be taken tonight from Smith Funeral home in Kingsley to the home, where it will repose until noon on Thursday.
