Floyd J. Blake, age 62, of R#1 Fife Lake, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 14, 1972 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City following a 6 month illness. 

Surviving are his wife, Margie; two daughters, Mrs. Roderick (Carol) Bremer of Reece, Mrs. Victor (Terry) Vipond of Spring Lake; three sons, Myron of Kalkaska, Frank and Charles of Fife lake; five sisters, Mrs. Laura Gilmore, Mrs. Oscar (Wilma) Miner, Mrs. Vera Butler and Mrs. Olive Skinner all of Fife Lake and Mrs. Fern Condon of Flint; 14 grandchildren and one great grandson; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clarence; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Scott; and two grandchildren, Ben and Eric Bremer. 

He was born April 5, 1910 in Kalkaska County, the son of Catherine and Benjamin R. Blake. He was married June 29, 1929 to Margie Williams in Kalkaska County. He was a Fife Lake school bus driver for 15 years and was a logger up to his illness in 1971. He was a former member of the Springfield Church of Christ. 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 1972 at the Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley with Eddie Bratton, minister of the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiating. Interment in Clark cemetery, Springfield Township, Kalkaska County.
