Mrs. Nellie Mahaffy, passed away Sun morning August 2, at her farm home in Flynn Township, after a long illness.
She was born February 23, 1880, in Speaker Township, daughter of the late Donald and Anna Bruce, she attended the Shook School.
On Jun 29, 1918, she was married in Brown City to Alex Mahaffy and they settled on the farm where she was living at the time of her death.
Survivors are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Lunette Miller, Marlette; one grandson, Ronald Cooper, four sisters, Mrs. William Clark, Omard, MI, Mrs. Jessie Clark, Seattle, WA, Mrs. Maggie Cork, Peck, and Mrs. Andrew Martin, Algonac. One brother, Joseph Bruce, Peck.
The remains were in the family home and were brought Wed noon to the Marsh Funeral Home where services were held at 2pm Rev. Robert Kyser officiated. Burial was in the Marlette Cemetery.
