Mrs. Agnes McIlwain, following an illness of six years, died in the hospital on Friday last at Poplar City, Montana, at the age of 89 years. She was the former Agnes Bruce and was born in Goderich Township. Her father was the late Daniel Bruce and her mother, the former Susannah McAllister. She attended Union School and in 1897 was married to John McIlwain. They moved to Montana where they lived at Brockton and Poplar City. Her husband predeceased her some time ago. She was a member of Poplar City Presbyterian Church.
The funeral service was held at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. J.J. Tiffin, Brock Street on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. R.B. McMillan officiated. Burial was made in Maitland Cemetery.
