Naomi Aldridge, daughter of the late Luther and Elizabeth Aldridge was born in Springfield Township near Fife Lake, Jan 31, 1879 and departed this life Dec 16, 1947, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edith Anderson in Detroit. She had been in falling health the past two years.

Mrs. Tolbert spent her girlhood days in Springfield and was married at the age of 19 to Jesse Tolbert and then moved to Thompsonville.  In 1921, the family moved to Detroit.

To this union ten children were born. They are: Mrs. Maude Wainwright of Whethersfield, CT, Mrs. Mabel Cowan, Mrs. Pansy Earls, Mrs. Edith Anderson, Harry, George, Clyde and Richard all of Detroit, and Wilbur and Jesse of Brighton.

She was a kind neighbor, true friend and a loving mother. She enjoyed her home and her children and leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Jesse Tolbert, Ten children, fourteen grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Martha Snyder of Fife Lake, and one brother, Wilbur Aldridge of Flint, also several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Dec 18, at the Harper and McMullen Funeral Home in Detroit. Burial was in the White Chapel Cemetery.
