Floyd R. Burt, 76, of 943 Stocker Ave., Flint, formerly of Fife Lake passed away early Monday morning after a lengthy illness. Surviving are his wife, Erva; six daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Virginia) Corwin, Mrs. Charles (Della) Sisler, Mrs. James (June) Davis, Mrs. Marvin (Joy) Birchmeier, Mrs. Ernest (Judy) Thompson, and Mrs. David (Janice) Florida, all of Flint; two sons, Bernard of Liverpool, NY and Stanley of Highland Park, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Donna McFarlan of Flint; a brother, Everett Johnson of Kalkaska; an aunt, Dora Paulson of Pontiac; 22 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. He was born Jan 28, 1896 in Stanton, the son of Effie and William Burt, and was united in marriage Feb 10, 1923 in Fife Lake to Erva D. Haskin. He was a veteran of World War I and served in France int he Medical Corps. He was employed as a farmer and woodsman in the Kalkaska area and moved to Flint in 1927 where he was a maintenance man for Butterfield Theaters. He retired in 1986. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley with Rev. Donald O'Leary of Flint officiating. Interment will be in Clark Cemetery in Kalkaska County. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home by World War I Veterans.
