Bernard Eugene Burt, 89, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2018.

Bernie was the son of Floyd and Erva Burt, born on April 10, 1929 in Flint, Michigan.

After High School, he joined the Army and served in the Korean War.

He married the love of his life, Barbara Walters in 1953.

He was employed by General Motors Corporation for 30 years, and retired as the Manager of the Data Processing Department in the Syracuse location in 1984.

Bernie coached little league baseball for many years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and watching horse racing.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, parents, infant daughter Becky, son Brian, grandson Brandon, brother Stanley, and sisters Della (Sisler and June (Davis).

He is survived by six children; Bennaire Currier (Gary) of Liverpool, Brenda Riedl (Al) of Cato, Bonnie Wood (Victor) of Murrells Inlet SC, Bruce Burt (Cheryl) of Myrtle Beach SC, Bethany Burt-Cirillo (Jeff) of Clay, Bernard Burt Jr. (Michele) of Liverpool, and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Burt of Naples, FL.

Eighteen grandchildren; Kristen Morris, Serenity O’Brien (John), Monica Hayes, John Crosier, Eric Burt (Heather), Joseph Crosier, Scott Ryan (Heather), Christopher Wood (Rachel), Joshua Burt, Benjamin Wood (Amanda), Carleen Sells (Brian), Anthony Cirillo, Sarah Burt, Zoe Burt, Samanta Cirillo, Danielle Burt, Austin Burt, and Brian Burt Jr. Four sisters; Virginia Corwin, Joy Birchmeier (Marvin), Janice Florida (Dave), and Judy Thompson (Ernie), and a brother-in-law Chalres Sisler. He also leaves 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 4 pm – 7 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St. North Syracuse, NY 13212, where funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm.

Interment will take place in Fife Lake, Michigan later.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bernie’s name to CNY Hospice 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY.
