Ellen Elizabeth Bourne, daughter of Frederick W. and Ellen J. Bourne was born at Springfield, near Fife Lake, June 8, 1902. She died, October 9, 1942, at the age of 40 years, four months, and one day.
She grew up at Fife lake, Her first marriage to Albert Stults, occurred in June 1923. To this union were born three children, LaRoy, Duane, and Wanda Jean Stutls. She married Orley Lakies, April 24, 1937.
Mrs. Lakies lived in Flint for many years. Survivors besides her husband and children are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bourne: four brothers, Charles, Cecil, and Archie Bourne of Fife Lake, and Raymond of Flint, and one sister, Mrs. Beulah Long of Manton. Also a great many other relatives and a large circle of friends.
Mrs. LaKies last illness lasted six weeks. She died in the General hospital at Flint. She was baptized into the Springfield Church of Christ, Dec 6, 1914, and was a member of that church, on Tuesday, October 13, at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in the Springfield Cemetery. Rev. Geo A. Tennant officiated, assisted by Rev. C.L. Clinton.
