Rose A. Ash, 75, of Fife Lake died Wednesday, June 27, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. 

Ash was born April 4, 1904 in Springfield Township, Kalkaska County, the daughter of William and Alsora (Cary) Haskin. She married Russell Ash in Detroit during 1941. He preceded her in death in 1959. 

Surviving are two brothers, Fred Haskin of Traverse City and Royal Haskin of Lake City; one sister, Mrs. Cecil (Zana) Bourne of Detroit; and several nieces and nephews. 

Ash had been a resident of Fife Lake since 1960, moving there from Detroit, where she lived for 35 years. 

She had been a school teacher for 30 years in the Detroit Public School System, a member of the Fife Lake Women's Club and the Kalkaska Historical Society. 

Memorial services were held Saturday, June 30, at 2 p.m. in the Covell-Smith Funeral Home of Kingsley. The Rev. Athel J. Lynch officiated. Burial was in Springfield Township Cemetery.
