R. Wayne "Pappy" Wright, 80, Ada, father of a Marion resident, died at 8 am Mon in the home of a daughter, Cairo.
He was born May 23, 1902, and was married Aug 19, 1920, to Anna Margaret Elzay Wright, who died Jan 9, 1974.
The member of Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ada, Farm Bureau Council, and 50 year member of Ada Liberty Grange was a retired farmer.
Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Norma Davis, Marion, Mrs. Ronald (Jeanne) Vermillion, Belle Center, Mrs. Lester (Evelyn) Fleming and Mrs. Dan (Helen) Smith, Lima, Mrs. Max (Betty) Klingler, Ada, Mrs. Robert (Patty) Betz, Kenton, and Mrs. Gene (Cecil) Williams, Cairo; four sons, Ralph and Gary Wright, Ada; Floyd Wright, Odessa, TX, and William Wright, Wapakoneta; a brother,Meryl Wright, Manchester, MI; a sister, Myrna Candler, Kenton; 42 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren.
The service will be conducted at 10:30 am Thu in Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, by the Rev. Gerald Lewis. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call 7 to 9 tonight; 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wed at the funeral home, where a Liberty Grange service will be conducted at 9 pm Wed.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
