Perry L. Ely, 67, of Fife Lake, died Thursday morning, September 10, 1959, at the home of his son, Walter, following a long illness. Mr. Ely was born August 17, 1892, in Ohio the son of Louis and Frances Ely. He came to this community with his parents at the age of six.
In 1911 he married the former Sarah Gillihaugh of Fife Lake with four children born to them.
Surviving are two sons, Walter of Fife Lake, and George of Grand Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Daniels of Fife Lake. One son, Floyd, preceded him in death, and Mrs. Ely died in 1922.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 from the Fife Lake Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Terpening officiating. Burial was in Clark Cemetery beside his companion in life.
