Marlene, "Marty" Emery, 69, of South Boardman, rejoined her heavenly family, gaining her wings on Nov. 17, 2021. Marty passed peacefully in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by family and friends. Marty was a caring, loving, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Marty was born to the late Leith and Nancy (Woodworth) Cunningham, on Nov 3, 1952.
Marty graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1970. For a majority of her adult life, Marty worked mainly in hospitality, in 1997 Marty and a friend opened a tanning salon in Fife Lake. While her passion for serving others was noteworthy, her true devotion was to her husband and her children. She is survived by three of her children, who made up the entirety of her world, Shelly Helsel, Ashley Miela and Jessica Miela-Patton; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Leith and Nancy Cunningham; brother; Lee Cunningham; her husband, Richard Miela; daughter, Angela Miela.
In her free time Marty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing euchre, building puzzles and beating Aunt Linda (Linda Stewart) at farkle. Marty will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
To honor Marty, a celebration of life will take place at Hulwick Event Center in Fife Lake, on December 5, at 1 p.m.
