Richard Leonard Miela, 46, passed away suddenly Fri, Feb 12, 1999, at his home in Fife Lake.
Richard was born in Pontiac, IL, on Aug 7, 1952. Rich resided in the Fife Lake area with his loving life companion and friend, Marty Cunningham Emery, and their daughters, Ashley, Angela, Jessica, and Shelley Emery of Manton.
A U.S. Army veteran, Rich had been a carpenter and one time owner of Quality Builders of Fife Lake. At the time of his death, he was the owner of Scooters Classic Motorcycles and Parts in Fife Lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Harley - Davidson motorcycles, and spending time with his family.
In addition to Maty and their daughters, Rick is survived by his father and stepmother, Leonard and Verna Miela of Whiting, IN; Nancy and Lee Cunningham of Fife Lake; brother Larry Miela of Chicago, IL; sister Nancy Oleson of Summit City; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his mother Helga Sheppard, and his paternal grandparents Angela and Charlie Harrington.
A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Rick's life will take place at the Fife Lake American Legion hall on Sun, Mar 7, at 1 pm. There will be a pot-luck luncheon following the memorial. Please bring a dish to pass. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
