Larry was born April 10, 1938 to Vivian and Ilah Foster. He passed away from natural causes on August 21, 2022 at the age of 84.
Larry was drafted and served overseas in the Army from December 12, 1962 to December 4, 1964. He married the love of his life, Marilyn on June 18, 1960. They were married for 58 years. Larry was employed in the tool and die industry where he worked for several years and for several employers including Jet Engineering and Portland Products. In their earlier years, Larry and Marilyn loved spending time up north with the family. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, playing cards, sitting around the camp fire telling “fairy tales” as his brothers would say and spending time with his Weimaraner dogs named Duke. Larry also enjoyed watching Nascar races and college/pro football and basketball games.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, parents, Vivian and Ilah, siblings Robert, Herbert, Harold, Dannie, Lois, Audell Luce and Marshall Foster. He is survived by his brother Richard Foster, very special sister, Verna Carpenter, brothers in law, Carl and Roger Langham, Jim Tropp, father in law Starr Tropp and several nieces and nephews who Larry and Marilyn treated as their own kids. Larry loved his family and friends; it was a rare occasion you left his house empty handed as he always insisted on giving you something. If you told him no, you often would get home to find the item strategically placed in your car.
Visitation will be held from 12 – 1 pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Mason Chapel followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm wit Rev. Suzanne Goodwin officiating. Interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason with military honors offered.
In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting memorial contributions be made to the Ingham County Animal Control in remembrance of Larry.
