Herbert H. Luce, Mason, born February 8, 1920 in Jackson; died February 13, 1997, at the age of 77. Mr. Luce was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He had retired in 1985 from Fisher Body, after 37 years of employment. Mr. Luce was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Jean R. Anderson Post, Mason and loved camping and being with his grandkids and family.

He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, and brother. Surviving his wife of 54 years, Marjorie; 5 children, Sandra (Dan) Perfitt, Randy Loveland, Herbert (Luann), Richard (Cindy), and Joseph (Kathy), all of Mason; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; and 6 brothers, Robert (Ima Jean) of Jackson, Hrold (Donna) Jr of Adrian, Dannie (Margo) of Lansing, Marshall (Toni) Foster of Colorado, Richard (Donna) Foster of Lansing, and Larry (Marilyn) Foster of Grand Ledge. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 17, 2 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Ball-Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, with Stephen Aikin, Pastor of Aurelius Baptist church, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, with military graveside services being provided by the V.F.W. Jean R. Anderson Post Mason. Friends may call at the Chapel beginning Saturday 2 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to Martin Luther Memorial Home, 5075 Willoughby, Holt 48842 or Aurelius Baptist Church, 4419 W. Barnes, Mason 48854 in memory of Mr. Luce.
