Joyce J. Shirk, 75, died at 12:11am Thu, Apr 16, 2009 at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima.
She was born October 14, 1933 in Forest to Arthur and Vivian L. (Ream) Carpenter.
Surviving are two sons, Terry R. (Kay) Shirk and Chip (Terri) Shirk, both of Kenton; four daughters, Penny (Jerry) Ropp and Lisa (Chuck) Burelson, both of MI, Susan Scott-Munday of Delaware and Jackie (Randy) Rader of Kenton; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; three sisters, Arlene (Wayne) Rogers and Katherine Bridenstine, both of Kenton and Peggy (Steve) Flesher of LaRue.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Zimmerman, a brother, Louie Carpenter and daughter in law, Marie Shirk.
She retired from the former Imperial Cup.
She attended the First Baptist Church in Kenton.
She enjoyed many years of quilting, reading, doing puzzles of all kinds and her beloved pets.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Mary Lou Johnson Library or the Harden County Humane Society.
Services will be 11am Mon at the Price Funeral Home in Kenton by the Rev. Craig Mansfield. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery in Kenton.
