Richard “Rick” Guy Luce, 68, of Mason, Michigan passed away on December 24, 2024 surrounded by his family. Rick was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friends.
Rick was born on February 13, 1956 in Lansing, Michigan to Herbert and Marjorie Luce. As a kid, Rick enjoyed playing sports, hanging out with his brothers and sister, and friends. At the age of 18, Rick enlisted in the United States Army. Rick was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Fort Bliss, Texas before being stationed in Germany. During this time, Rick married the love of his life, Cindy. He returned stateside to finish out his 5 year enlistment in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Upon returning to Michigan, Rick began working at Ingham Intermediate School District where he worked for 30 years as a maintenance technician prior to retiring in 2010. In his free time, Rick had many hobbies including watching University of Michigan Athletics, watching NASCAR, playing the Lotto, and keeping his truck well detailed. Rick was also known to take a lot of pride in his yard and hand one of the best looking lawns in the area. Along with his hobbies, Rick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Rick is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cindy; his children, Chad (Michelle) Luce and Kylee (Marty) Lonn; his grandchildren Branden (Brittany), Emmilee, Brandon, Eeli, Landon, Haley, Maycee, Karlee, and Lawson; great granddaughter Kennedee; and brother Herbert Luce. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Randy Loveland, Joe Luce, and his sister, Sandy Perfitt.
A visitation for Richard will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 South Jefferson, Mason, MI 48854. A memorial service will occur Friday, January 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM. A committal service will occur Friday, January 10, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Hawley Cemetery, Mason, MI 48854.
