George F. Foote, 81, of 4849 Round Lake Rd., Gladwin, died Friday at the Midland Hospital Center. Mr. Foote was born May 5, 1899 in Paulding County, Ohio, and had been a resident of Gladwin County since 1906.
He lived in Sage Township for nine years and moved to Sherman Township in 1915. He worked for the Gladwin County Road Commission before going to the Dow Chemical Co. where he was a crew leader and operator for 21 years, retiring in 1962.
Mr. Foote was married to the former Elsie Westover on December 24, 1918. She died in 1975.
Surviving are three sons; five daughters; one sister; 43 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildre and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Mathews Funeral Home, with burial in the Butman Cemetery.
