Francis E. Helsel, 68, of Baldwin, died Fri, Oct 7, 1994 at Reed City Hospital.
Mr. Helsel was raised in Kalkaska County and moved to Baldwin in 1971. He was retired from the Baldwin DNR, and he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and his family.
He was born on Aug 2, 1926, in Lake City, to Fred and Katie Olmstead Helsel. He married Joanne Thorington, who preceded him in death. On Dec 21, 1973, he married Bernice Beaver, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Stanley of South Boardman, James of Houston, TX and Gary of New London, TX; three step sons, Dennis Beaver of Houston, TX, Kenneth Beaver and Michael Beaver, both of Kalkaska; one brother, jack Helsel of Fife Lake; two sisters, Effie Davis of Cedar Springs and Bertha Baker of Muskegon; 20 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Luwana Ingersoll, and one grandson, Kenneth Beaver Jr.
Funeral services were held Mon, Oct 10, 1994, at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
