Mrs. Elsie M. Birgy, a lifelong resident of the Fife Lake and Kalkaska area, passed away Monday, February 7, 1972, at Munson Medical Center at the age of 56 years.
Elsie Haskin was born August 13, 1915, the daughter of Albert and Della Ingersoll Haskin. She is survived by five sons, Gerald of Fife Lake, Michael of East Detroit, John of Traverse City, Allan of Charlotte, and Leo of Utica; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Beverly) Webb of Kalkaska and Mrs. Earl (Sharon) Hahn of Sturgis; a brother, Erwin Haskin of Grand Rapids; a brother, Erwin Haskin of Grand Rapids; six sisters, Mrs. Joseph McCabe of Ada, Mrs. Floyd Burt of Flint, Mrs. Mae Clark of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. John Kelley and Mrs. Eva Ritter both of Detroit, and Mrs. Ann Robbins of Comstock Park, also 23 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 9, 1972 from the Schwartz-Wolfe Funeral Home, with Eddie Bratton minister of the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiating. Burial was made in the Springfield Twp. Cemetery.
