Donald Carl Van Atta, 67, a widower of Mesa, AZ, passed away on January 2, 2002. Born and raised in Ada, Ohio, Donald served in the U.S. Armed Forces and later in the National Guard, 148th Infantry. He is survived by five brothers, Willard, Harold, Lloyd, Paul, and John, and three sisters, Mildred, Marie, and Lola, all of who still reside in Ohio. Donald is also survived by his four children, Rex, Melanie, Melissa, and Carla and his step-daughter Megan, who considered him as her only earthly father. Other stepchildren include Peggy, Robert, Skip, and Mike. He had eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Donald fought a hard and courageous battle with congestive heart disease and diabetes. He was loved and cherished by many. His unfailing generosity, kindness and caring soul will be tenderly missed.
