Barbara June Heckman, one and a half year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Heckman, 675 S. Union St, was found dead in bed at the Heckman home at 6:30 am Friday.
Allen-co Coroner Harry E. Lewis attributed the child’s death to probably pneumonia after an illness of several days. He said the parents declined taking the child to a physician Thursday because of inclement weather.
In addition to the parents, survivors include the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Lanning, 635 ½ S Main St, and the paternal grandfather, Henry Heckman, 911 S. Greenlawn Ave.
The body will remain at the Siferd funeral Home until time for services. Rites will be held at 9:15 am Monday in St. John’s Catholic Church with Rev. Albert A Fate officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
