Mrs. Susan S. Timmins, 84, of Fife Lake died Wednesday morning, August 9, 1961, at the Kalkaska Memorial health Center after a lingering illness. 

Mrs. Timmins was born on April 24, 1877, in Napoleon, Ohio, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Battenfield, and at an early age moved with her parents to Springfield Township in Kalkaska County. 

On February 22, 1898, she was married to Daniel Timmins who died on February 28, 1956. 

She was a member of Springfield Township Church of Christ.

Surviving are two sons, John of Fife Lake and Kenneth of Lansing; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Retha) Olney of Muskegon; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Bourne of Lewiston and Mrs. Ben Wheeler of Clio; and two brothers, Abner Battenfield of Birch Run and John Battenfield of Fife Lake. 

Besides her husband, two granddaughters preceded Mrs. Timmins in death; Edithmae Timmins on October 30, 1932, and Sherriesue Olney on July 2, 1953. 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 1961, at the Springfield township Church of Christ with O.B. Little of the Rapid City Church of Christ officiating, and burial in nearby Clark Cemetery.
