Shelia Maxine Huffman, age 79, of Ravenna, MI died Sun, Jul 19, 2015 at Christian Care Nursing Home in Muskegon surrounded by her loving family. Sheila was born Feb 14, 1936 in Paradise Township, MI to the late Gerald J and Varden (Aldridge) Akers.
She married Versil Duane Huffman on Jun 20, 1953 at St Thomas Catholic Church in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on Nov 19, 2007.
Shelia is survived by: one son: Bryan and Michelle Huffman of Ravenna. Two daughters: Jolynn and Leon Bekius and Julie and Michael Diendorf all of Ravenna. 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Two sisters: Venita (Pete) Boody of Tennessee, Jeritza DeCheney of Hesperia and one brother: Jerold (Donna) Akers of Fremont. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Shelia was preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband Versil.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated on Thu, Jul 23, 2015 at 10 am at St Catherine’s Catholic Church with Father Fred Brucker celebrant. Burial will follow at St Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will be present at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna on Wed, Jul 22, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm to receive friends and again on Wed at St Catherine’s Catholic Church from 9 am until the time of service. The Rosary will be prayed at 8 pm on Wednesday.
