Versil Duane Huffman, age 73, died Mon, Nov 19, 2007 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Versil D Huffman was born Jun 15, 1934 in Kelden, MI to the late Thiel and Gertrude (Peffers) Huffman. Versil married Sheila M (Akers) Huffman on Jun 20, 1953 at St Thomas Catholic Church in Muskegon.
Versil worked for Sealed Power until his retirement in 1971.
Versil is survived by his wife of 54 years Sheila, 1 son, Bryan and Michelle Huffman of Ravenna, 2 daughters, Jolynn and Leon Bekius and Julie and Leonard Simons all of Ravenna, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Joseph Huffman of Muskegon, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Versil was preceded in death in addition to his parents by 1 brother, Gerry Huffman and 1 sister, Lois Abrams.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated on Wed, Nov 21, 2007 at 11 am at St Catherine’s Catholic Church with Father Ernest Bernott celebrant. Burial will follow at St Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will be present at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna on tue, Nov 20, 2007 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm to receive friends and again on Wed at St Catherine’s Catholic Church from 10 am until the time of service. The Rosary will be prayed at 7pm on Tuesday.
