Ruby G. Thorburn, 78, Kingsley died Tuesday at Munson Medical Center.
She was born June 8th, 1900 in Roachdale, Ind., to Jeremiah and Arthelia (Long) Mathes. On Nov 22, 1915 she married Daniel Thorburn. He died Aug. 2, 1971. On Nov 5, 1972, she married Joseph Thorburn and he died Dec 11, 1977.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Alice) Ely, Kingsley; Mrs. Roy (Mary) Kroning, Dearborn Heights; Mrs. Chauncey (Bettie Jean) Ingersoll, Fife Lake; Mrs. Ivan (Sara) Burgess, Comstock Park; two sons, Frederick, Kirkland, Wash., Daniel Jr., Fife Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Phillip (Sara Marie) Stephens, Chicago; Mrs. David (Elisabeth) Taylor, Bushnell, Fla; 27 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Fern; four brothers and several grandchildren.
She had been a resident of Kingsley since 1930 and wrote many poems and stories for numerous publications.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley wit Eddie Bratton officiating. Burial will be in the Springfield Township Cemetery, Fife Lake.
