Joseph Thorburn, 62, of 6361 Walton Road, Kingsley, died Sunday at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Mathes) Thorburn; two stepsons, Frederick Thorburn of Kirkland, Wash., and Daniel Thorburn of Walton Junction; four stepdaughters, Alice Ely of Kingsley, Mrs. Roy (Mary) Kroning of Dearborn Heights, Mrs. Channcy (Betty) Ingersoll of Fife Lake and Mrs. Ivan (Sarah) Burgess of Comstock Park; one brother, Alfred of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Margaret Carpenter and Euphemia Kispert both of Orlando, Fla.; 23 step grandchildren and 31 step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
He was born May 24, 1915, the son of Daniel and Euphernia (Broatch) Thorburn in Clinton, Ind. He has been a resident of the Kingsley area since 1945.
The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley with Eddie Bratton officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Township Cemetery, Fife Lake. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 7 this evening.
