Robert A Gibbons, age 84 of Columbiaville, passed away Mar 26, 2018. He was born Dec 22, 1933 in Elba, MI to Clara and Max Gibbons. Robert was raised on the farm, the youngest of four kids. He joined the US Marine Corps at age 18 and was wounded during the Korean War. Robert was a longtime member of the Labor Local 1075. He married Leona King in 1956 and together they had 5 children, Stanley Gibbons, Glenn Gibbons, Fred (Betty) Gibbons, Vicky Scramlin and Debbie (Scott) Wyman; 5 grandchildren, Barb Gibbons, Justin Gibbons, Melissa Scramlin, Jake Scramlin, and Marshall Scramlin.
Robert kept to himself but got along well with others. He enjoyed quiet time reading the newspaper, or taking long walks with the dogs. He loved animals, riding his motorcycle and camping trips to up north Michigan on the Au Sable River.
Bob’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Suncrest for the exceptional care that was given to Bob during his stay. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors -Capstick Chapel. No services will be taking place.
