Oscar Miner, 78, of Springfield Township, Kalkaska County, Fife Lake, passed away Friday afternoon, September 14, 1973 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, Kalkaska, after a long illness. 

Mr. Miner was born in Boardman Township, Kalkaska County, to Hattie and Herbert Miner, on September 11, 1895 and was married to Wilma Blake on March 14, 1914. He was a building contractor in and around Fife Lake for many years and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska. 

Surviving besides the widow, Wilma, of Fife Lake, are one son, Mancel E. Miner of Traverse City; two daughters Mrs. Frank (Audrey) McCormic of Fife Lake and Mrs. Maurice (Dorothy) Sivic of Troy; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law;, Mrs. Laura Gilmore, Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Olive) Skinner and Mrs. Marjorie Blake all of Fife Lake and Mrs. Fern Condon of Flint; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, two infant sons, one brother, Ernest Miner of Detroit and one sister, Ethel Lounsberry of Flint. 

The Rev. Geary F. Bird officiated at the funeral services Monday, September 17, 1973 at 2 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley. Interment was made in the Clark Cemetery, Springfield Township, Kalkaska County. 

Memorials may be directed to the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center or the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
