Mrs. Nora Belle Smith died at Mercy hospital, Cadillac, Sunday evening following a brief illness.

Nora Belle Williams was born February 27, 1873 in Tipton County and the daughter of William and Harriet William. When a child she moved with her parents to Walton Junction and on Aug 4, 1888 was united in marriage to Emery J. Smith who died November 18, 1948. To this union was born 14 children, four of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Church of Christ of which her husband was a minister for years.

Surviving are four sons, Emery and Ed are of Walton Junction and Robert and Roy of Pontiac; six daughters, Mrs. Nellie Aldridge and Mrs. Mildred Newmarch of Kingsley, Mrs. Harriet Kimball and Mrs. Pearl Vernier of Pontiac, Mrs. Dorothy Dontje and Mrs. Jane Loper of Manton; two sisters, Mrs. Jane Wilbur and Mrs. Cena Fraser of Grand Rapids; one brother, Arthur Williams of Kinross, MI; 38 grandchildren and ? great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wed at 2pm from the Manton Church of Christ and interment will be made in the Walton Cemetery.

The body will be at the Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley until Wed at noon when it will be located to the Manton Church of Christ to lay in state until time of services.
