Max Elwin Ball, 65, of Midland, went to be with his Lord Fri, Apr 16, 1993 at the V.A. Medical Center in Saginaw. 

Max was born on Mar 26, 1928, in Spencer, the son of Ralph and Dora Hart Ball. He was married to Hazel Allen in Kalkaska on Feb 12, 1949. 

He was a member of First Methodist Church in Midland for many years. He was a life member and past commander of V.F.W. Post 3651, life member of the Military Order of Cooties and the V.F.W. National Home. His memberships included the American Legion, the Masonic Centre Lodge No 273, and O.E.S. Chapter 121. 

Preceding him in death were his brother, Doyle, and sisters, Donna Keller and Beatrice Rowell. 

Surviving are his living wife, Hazel; two sons, Michael (and wife Shirley) Ball of Belding, and Ricky Ball of Bay City; one daughter, Mrs. John (Sandie) Otis of Kentwood; his beloved grandchildren, Heather and Ryan Michael Ball and Jeremy and Jessie Otis; his brother Rolland (and wife, Barbara) Ball of Kalkaska; one sister, Marie Hall of Grayson, KY; and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held Mon, Apr 19, 1993, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Robert Grigereit officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery with military rites by Land O'Lakes Post 8684, V.F.W. 

Memorial contributions may be given to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund, 4005 Orchard Drive, Midland, MI.
