Lillian Elaine Birgy, 87, of Fife Lake, passed away on June 18, 2025. She was born on March 16, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, to Thomas and Agnes (Couture) Tomes.
Lillian was feisty, fierce, and hardworking. She was known for her generous spirit and love for her family, never missing an event and always showing up with support. She and her husband Gerald traveled together to 48 of the 50 states, creating countless memories. Lillian enjoyed her coffee, and her home was the heart of many Sunday family dinners, always filled with the comforting smells of her delicious home cooked meals-especially her favorite, chop suey.
Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her children, Tom (Elaine) Birgy, Vicky (Karl) Prough-Wittbold, David (Candy) Birgy, Gerald (Tammy) birgy Jr, Lori (Scott) Gruse-Lowes; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and 2 brothers-in law, Michael (Marge) Birgy, Al (Kay) Birgy. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Lee Birgy Sr; her parents and her siblings, Edna and Jack.
The family would like to thank the Eden Center, Heartland Hospice, and all of the nurses and doctors for their compassionate care.
A private graveside service will be held at Clark Cemetery in Fife Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
