Edna D. Wheeler, 77, of Fife Lake, died on Monday, July 19, 2004, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center-Long Term Care. She was born in Warren on Oct. 4, 1926, the daughter of Thomas E. and Agnes (Couture) Tomes. Edna married Gerald J. Wheeler on Sept. 4, 1948, in Fife Lake, her husband of 47 years, who preceded her in death in 1996.
Edna was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Fife Lake Boat Club, and the Fife Lake Rebecca Lodge. She enjoyed watching game shows and listening to country music.
She is survived by her sister, Lillian (Gerald) Birgy of Fife lake; her brother, John W. (Freda) Tomes of Inverness, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Gerald J. Wheeler.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, July 26, 2004, at noon, at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley, with the Rev. Stanley Hayes officiating, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be given, in her name, to the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center-Long Term Care of the Fife Lake American Legion Post.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley.
