Lavona E. Ritzema, 39, of Coster Road, Fife Lake, died Sunday afternoon in Missaukee County.
The daughter of Florence and Frederick Bates, she was born in Kalkaska County on Feb 4, 1936, and was united in marriage to Jay E. Ritzema on Jun 13, 1964.
Mrs. Ritzema was a member fo the Fife Lake Woman's Club; Fife Lake Historical Society; and was president of two bowling leagues.
Her father and a sister preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband Jay, a son William, and a daughter, Kimberly both at home; her mother Mrs. Florence Bates of Cadillac, two sisters, Mrs. Frederick (Margaret) McBrain of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Edward (Isabel) Nyquist of Manton; a brother, Morris Bates of Bellaire; and uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives.
The funeral is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home, Kingsley, with the Reverends Molly and Arthur Turner of Fife Lake Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery, Fife Lake.
