Florence May Mowrey, 89, of Fife Lake, died Tuesday at the Lakeview Lutheran Manor Nursing Home, Cadillac. 

Before moving to the nursing home three years ago, she had been a longtime resident of Fife Lake. She was a member of the Church of Christ. 

Born in Fife Lake on April 10, 1900, she was the daughter of Alfred and Nellie Perkins. 

She is survived by two daughters, Isabelle Nyquist of Manton and Margaret McBrian of Sparta; one son, Morris Bates of Bellaire; and 13 grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Bates, in 1946; a brother, Clyde Perkins; two sons in infancy; two daughters, Margie and Lavona; and two sisters, Irene Mitchell and Marion Hall. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley. The Rev. Richard Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Springfield Township Cemetery, Fife Lake. 

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. 

Memorials may be directed to Lakeview Lutheran Manor Nursing Home, Cadillac.
