Fred Bates, age 50 years, died early Monday morning unexpectedly, at his home in South Boardman, from a heart attack. He had live din South Boardman the past four years. Prior to that time he was a resident of Springfield township, having resided there 22 years. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving Mr. Bates are four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Hurlburt, of Manton; Isabel, Margaret, and Lavona, and a son Morris, at home; also two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Iteen and Mrs. Bert Conklin. if Pentwater, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Springfield Church of Christ Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with interment in Springfield cemetery. Rev. A.R. Ellis officiated at the service.
