Kenneth Powers Jr, 51, of 111 Clark St, died today at Lakeview General Hospital. He had been ill two years and hospitalized one week.
He was born in Battle Creek and was a lifelong area resident. He was employed by the former Oliver Equipment Co. until the firm closed, and then was employed by the United Steel and Wire Co. 14 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Norma Reel; a son, Roger Powers, at home; a daughter, Karen Powers, at home; stepsons, David Snowberger, at home, and James Marshall of Battle Creek; hismother, Mildred Powers of 118 N. 16th St; sisters, Mrs. William (Wanetta) France of Delton, Della Griffin of 138 N 16th St, Mrs. Russell (Betty) Phillips and Mrs. Ray (Lillian) Wilkerson of Battle Creek; and brothers, Doug Harold “Junior”, and Richard Powers all of Battle Creek.
Services will be held at 2 p.m Thursday at Royal Funeral Home.
