Mr. Floyd Ely, son of Perry and Elizabeth Ely, 34 years old, passed away Sunday, May 11, at Mercy Hospital in Grayling, where he had been a patient since May 7.
Mr. Ely was born March 5, 1918 in Springfield Township. He received his schooling at the Maple Hill School.
In October, 1939, he was united in marriage to Alice Thorburn. To this union four children were born, one having passed away in infancy.
Surviving Mr. Ely, besides his widow, Alice, are two sons, Leo and Tony, one daughter, Sandra a sister, Mrs. Pearl Daniels and two brothers, George and Walter Ely, all of Fife Lake, and many other relatives.
Mr. Ely, who was a farmer, had been unable to do any hard work for the past several months because of a heart condition which resulted in his untimely death.
Funeral services were held this Thursday, May 15, at the Methodist Church in Fife Lake, with Rev. E. Eldens officiating. Burial was made in the Fife Lake Cemetery.
