Earl W. Gilmore, 69, of Fife Lake died Wednesday afternoon at Traverse City Osteopathic hospital after a lingering illness.
Mr. Gilmore was born May 31, 1892 in Alberta, Can. and was employed by Sealtest Dairy Co. in Flint for many years before retiring and moving to Fife Lake in 1957.
On December 1, 1910 he was married to Laura Blake, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Rheo of Fife Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Cyril (Mildred) Nelson of Saginaw and Mrs. Harold (Lorraine) Goudzward of Flint; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, William of Grand Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Ethel) May of Detroit, Mrs. O.C. (Rosebell) Hicks of Jackson, and Mrs. Al (Dorothy) Blackburn of Spring Valley, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Fife Lake Methodist Church, Rev. Max Gladding officiating, with burial in Springfield township cemetery, Kalkaska county.
The body will be taken late today from Smith Funeral home in Kingsley to the family residence to remain until noon on Saturday.
