Dorothy R. Withrow, 87, of Findlay, died at 12:09pm on Mon, Mar 10, 2014, at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born on Feb 14, 1927 in Bluffton to the late Russell N. and MaryF. (Hixon) Elzay. Dorothy married Claire E. Withrow on Jul 23, 1945 and he preceded her in death on Jul 25, 1994.
She is survived by two children, Barbara Starr of Findlay and Russell (Mary) Withrow of Sykesville, PA; one sister, Joan Scott of Bluffton; four grandchildren: Jolene Currie, Kelly (Matt) Ziegler, Scott (Anita) Withrow, Todd (Melissa) Withrow; and nine great grandchildren: Austin Currie, Christian Currie, Anika Benitez, Brady Ziegler, Payton Ziegler, Kaitlyn Withrow, Mackenzie Withrow, Alexis Withrow, and Casey Withrow. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her son in law, John Starr.
She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Rawson, the Poinsettia Club in Bluffton, and Town and Country Rook Club in Findlay.
Visitation will be held on Thu, Mar 13, 2014 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11am on Fri, Mar 14, 2014 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Staats officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to New Hope United Methodist Church.
