Catherine “Kay” H. King of Bancroft age 83, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at her residence. A memorial mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, September 5, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 700 E. Columbia Dr., Durand Father J. Kay was born in Lapeer, Michigan on February 20, 1926 the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Sanford) Stacy. She married Gene H. King in Lapeer, MI on June 20, 1946. She lived in the Bancroft area since 1955. Kay was a graduate of Lapeer High School, Class of 1944. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Durand and very active in community and school activities. Kay was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Gene, Children, Diane M. King McMorran of Port Huron, Judith A. King of Fenton, Karen S. and husband Mark Manrique of Lansing, Gene P. and wife Beth King of Howell, Joy E. King of Fowlerville 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Mary (Paul) Brazie of Lapeer, Rita (Tom) Birchmeier of Flint, Many nieces of nephews. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers.
