Winona May Books died at her home May 31, 2012 while surrounded by her loving family. She was 82. Winona was born to Otis Burdette and Alice Luella (Wonsey) Vanderbrook on May 18, 1930. She married Leroy Books on Oct 9, 1947.
Winona is survived by her loving husband Leroy, her daughter Penny (Douglas) Paddock of Manton, her two sons, Laroy Books and Patricia Hawk of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Duane (Marlene) Books of Cadillac. Her grandchildren Catherine Heyd, Chad Heyd, Robert Heyd, Teri and Robert Hawk, Lee and Marie Books and several great-grandchildren. Winona was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Dawn Karen, and a grandson, Shane Heyd.
Winona had a great love of family and friends. She also found great joy in gardening and working around the church while she could. Funeral services will be held at the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home, Jun 5, 2012 at 1 pm. Officiating will be Jay Juliet. Visitation for Winona will be Jun 5, 2012 from 11am until time of service. Interment will take place at a later time at the Clark Cemetery in Fife Lake. Aluncheon will follow the service at the Life House Assembly of God Church.
