William E. Harvey, 68, of Fife Lake died early Tuesday morning at Munson Hospital in Traverse City after a lingering illness. 

Mr. Harvey was born July 9, 1895 at South Boardman, the son of William E. and Ella Harvey, and was an interior decorator in Lansing from 1930 until moving to Fife Lake in 1959. He was married about 1918 in Pontiac to Mary Harp. 

Surviving are two sons, Robert of Saline and William of Romulus; two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Ruth) Vila of Ypsilanti and Mrs. Ormie (Marjorie) Betternets of Saline; 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and other relatives. 

A daughter, Mrs. Harold (Marlee) Deckert of Ann Arbor preceded Mr. Harvey in death. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Smith funeral home in Kingsley. Rev. Stanley Hayes officiating, with burial in Clark Cemetery, Fife Lake.
