Wilfred D. "Jack" Hahn, 90, of Rapid City, died Mon, Feb 1, 2000, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care. 

He was born Oct 16, 1909, in Detroit, the son of Daniel and Eleanor (Underwood) Hahn. He moved to the Torch Lake area in 1946. 

On Jan 16, 1927, in Bowling Green, Ohio, he married Ethel Mae Heaps. Together they managed the Chippewa Trail Camp for girls on Elk Lake in the 1940s and '50s. Mr. Hahn was a master carpenter who helped build many homes in the area. He derived great enjoyment from his garden and had a great fondness for his grandchildren. 

Preceding him in death in 1994 was his wife Ethel Mae. He was also preceded by three sisters and granddaughters Elizabeth Ann and Michelle Anne Hahn. 

Surviving are son Delbert W. (Gail) Hahn of Alma; grandchildren Mari Lynn (Damian) Greiff of New Ash Green, England, and Daniel W. Hahn of San Diego, CA; great grandsons Nicholas Daniel and James B Breiff of England; and sisters Marie McBride , Mildred Lee and Evelyn Moore. 

Funeral services were Feb 5 at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes; Rev. Mitchell Saxton officiated. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Torch Lake township in the spring.
