Wayne Alvin Meek Jr of Warren, MI died Mar 1, 2021. He was 55 years old. Wayne was born on Dec 14, 1965 in Detroit to parents Mary Ann (nee Portrey) and Wayne A. Meek Sr.
Wayne was a lifelong machinist at his family business, LaSalle Thread Grinding, Inc. in Madison Heights. He enjoyed hunting, boating, golfing, and especially bowling. He bowled a 300 game and 800 series. He liked watching hockey and had a love for music like Cheap Trick and Kiss. He loved gambling pull tabs and all you can eat crab legs. Wayne was known for being the guy with no cell phone, computer, or email - no small feat in todays world.
Wayne was hard working and devoted to his family and his business. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a great guy who will be deeply missed.
Wayne is survived by his three beloved children, Ryan (Rachel) Meek, Kayla Meek, and Chelsey (Anthony) Meek, his six cherished grandchildren, Ruby, Riley, Kaylee, Collin, Mollie, and Hunter, and his dear siblings, Kelli (Dave) Meek, Mark (Jeanne Meek, Debbie Rey, David Connors, and Steve (Lynne) Meek. Wayne is also survived by his loving life partner, Lizz Harper, the mother of his three children, Laurie Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann and Wayne Meek Sr.
Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N Crooks Rd, Clawson, MI 48017 on Fri, Mar 5, 2021 from 3 to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Guardian Angels Catholic Church 581 E 14 Mile Rd, Clawson, MI 48017 on Sat, Mar 6, 2021 at 11 am. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
