Virginia M Girdley, 72, of Kalkaska, passed away Fri, Apr 25, 2003, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center- Long Term Care in Kalkaska.
She was born on May 6, 1930, in Detroit, the daughter of Charles and Mary (O'Leary) Lewis.
Virginia married Charles Girdley on Sep 17, 1966, in Warren. She lived in California for 25 years and moved to Kalkaska in 1987.
Virginia is survived by her siblings, Sister Maureen Lewis of the Sister of St Joseph in Nazareth; brother Charles Lewis of the Brothers of the Holy Cross in California; Eileen A Scott of Kalkaska; and Thomas Lewis of Ferndale.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; brother, Anthony Lewis; and sisters, Rosemary Zinniger and Margaret Hummel.
A memorial mass has taken place at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
