Charles Girdley, 69, of Kalkaska, died Sun, Jun 22, 1997, at Munson Medical Center.
Mr. Girdley was born in Hamtramck on Jan 10, 1928, to Ottaway and Ruby Farmer Girdley. He married Virginia Lewis in Warren on Sep 17, 1966.
Mr. Girdley moved to Kalkaska County 11 years ago from California. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. He retired as an auto service manager in 1984.
Surviving are his wife Virginia; brothers Alonzo of California and Gerald of Clarkston; and sister Catherine Krieger of CA.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated Jun 27 at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Fr. Patrick J Barrett officiated. Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
