Vernon Frederick Rauch, 72, was born to Guy and Edna Rauch on Mar 12, 1932, in Alden. He went to be with the Lord on Nov 22, 2004, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care.
Vern lived most of his life in the Alden-Rapid City area. He was honorably discharged from the US Air Force in 1951.
On Jul 1, 1967, he married Mary Dorman, who preceded him in death. Vern spent many years working at Super Tool in Elk Rapids where he retired from. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and caring for his beloved wife, Mary.
Vern is survived by his brother, Robert Rauch of Williamsburg; sister Dinah Meadows of Mancelona; step-sons, Harry Dorman of Muskegon, Henry Dorman, Vern Dorman, and Tim Dorman all of Kalkaska; step daughter, Martha Elliot of Chandler, AZ; and 18 grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Nov 26 at the Wolfe Funeral Home, with Dan Johnson of the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
